3 Safari Audio Plugins for Creative Production & Mixing | Summer Sale Special Blog

Abigail abi@safaripedals.com

Hey y’all!

Summer is almost over (thank goodness fr!) and with that comes an End of Summer Sale here at Safari.

I had a blast filming a video with Noam spotlighting a few plugins from our Everything Bundle, and thought it’d be fun to do a little producer roundup of some of my favorites + share some cool ways other creators have used them too!

You can check out Noam’s video here, where he dives into the Fox Echo Chorus, Ladybug Reverb, Level-Or, and Hawk Phaser.

Here are my top 3 picks!

1. Cobra Fuzz

As a guitar pedal fanatic, Cobra Fuzz spoke to my nerdy soul the second I heard it for the first time heheh. It’s become a staple whenever I need a distortion that’s a little more fizzy and has some real bite.

I’ve used it on everything from vocals, guitars, and bass to straight up DEMOLISHING my reverb auxs with it.

I recently ran the UAD Pure Plate into it and was STOKED with the sound I got!

Here’s an awesome Cobra Fuzz video by Bradley Denniston so you can hear it in action:

2. Rabbit Tape

This is one of those plugins where the second I pop it into a session, it takes me into the cinema of the song. From the Grit knob to the wow & flutter, Rabbit Tape has helped me take sounds from feeling to pulling at the heartstrings.

One of my fav ways to use it is cranking the wow & flutter on the cassette setting and blending it in to create this beautifulllll warble effect. Guitars, vocals, strings have been some of my most recent use cases and damn does that get me in my musical feels.

Here is a great demo by Greg Kocis taking Rabbit Tape for a spin:

3. Hippie Elephant

I had never used a granular reverb before until I showed up to the Safari Studio and Noam showed me Hippie Elephant for the first time- my producer brain exploded.

The spaces and soundscapes you can get out of this thang, especially with the tremolo and pitch controls, are insaannneeee. It’s one of those plugins where you can just get lost messing with it 😂 (guilty of that hehe).

Automating Hippie Elephant on vocals, lead guitars, and FX can create some really cool textures that you can actually feel. A recent favorite use was popping it on a lead guitar after Rabbit Tape, with the Wow & Flutter cranked in Cassette mode. It created this super melty, tape-y lead sound that was magical.

Here is an amazing video by Elliott In The Studio diving into the Hippie Elephant universe:

These are my top 3 picks for this fine summer season! I’m super curious what yours are and how you like to use these plugins!! Feel free to drop me a line at abi@safariaudio.com 💌 Would love to hear your take!
